About Javier Shirley Photographer

Born in Panama, Javier Shirley has built a 34-year career spanning Panama, Argentina, and the United States.

He studied photography in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he further developed his photographic education and visual approach. Throughout his career, he has worked in editorial photography, portraiture, commercial assignments, and fine art reproduction.

His work has appeared on more than 15 magazine covers and in several publications, reflecting a career shaped by different countries, cultures, and photographic environments.

Shirley’s approach to photography is grounded in observation, composition, and the expressive use of light. His portraits seek to reveal character and individuality, favoring a deliberate visual language over passing trends.

He is also the creator of Round Circle Magazine, an independent publication exploring photography, art, and visual storytelling.

Currently based in Austin, Texas, Shirley is available to travel for photographic assignments.
